St. Joseph Catholic Church is excited to offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) to help foster holy curiosity in the youngest of God's flock!
What is Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based method of evangelization and catechesis for children. It is a research-based, child-led, model of faith formation that seeks to draw the child into relationship with Jesus, the Good Shepherd. We do this by creating a special space called the atrium in which we can reflect on elements of scripture and liturgy with the children in a developmentally appropriate way.
Catechist Formation
CGS ministers to three age groups; Level 1 (3-6 years old), Level 2 (6-9 years old), & Level 3 (9-12 years old).
Catechists are thoroughly trained to facilitate the atrium and help guide children to find answers to the questions the Lord stirs in their hearts.
